Trevor B. Potter

Associate

Trevor B. Potter is an associate of the firm in the litigation department.  Mr. Potter represents clients in state and federal trial courts principally in the areas of real property, title insurance, contractual disputes and general civil litigation.


Education Background

Mr. Potter received his B.A. degrees in political science and history, magna cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2005.  He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2009.  While in law school, Mr. Potter was named to the Dean’s List and was the recipient of awards for the highest grades in Constitutional Law II and International Commercial Arbitration.

Employment Background

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Potter was a legal intern at the Paris, France headquarters of Sanofi Aventis.

Representative Matters

  • Assisted trial team in obtaining substantial verdict on behalf of lenders in three week jury trial involving breach of fiduciary duty claims against loan broker and escrow holder
  • Assisted in obtaining summary judgment in multimillion dollar breach of contract litigation
  • Represented international lender in mechanics’ lien, stop notice, foreclosure and lender liability litigation
  • Defended title insurance company in insurance bad faith litigation in federal court
  • Obtained out-of-court settlement from insurance company for damage to client’s personal property
  • Represented individuals in defense and prosecution of title insurance claims
  • Represented both tenants and landlords in connection with landlord-tenant disputes
  • Participated in negotiation of mediation settlement which protected client’s title to residential property
