“Sexual Harassment and Workplace Conduct Seminars” — California law requires employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment from occurring. These multi-media, interactive seminars are designed to train managers and non-managers in any company or area of employment. Training focuses on how to prevent and appropriately address sexual harassment, workplace violence, and improper conduct in the workplace, from legal and practical standpoints.

“Diversity Seminars” — Multi-media, interactive training seminars for employees in any company or area of employment. Training focuses on promoting teamwork and professionalism through embracing diversity in the workplace.

“Employee Handbooks: Protecting Your Company Through Effective Use” — Topics for the seminar include whether your company should have an employee handbook; what policies should go into an employee handbook; and employee handbook traps for the unwary. Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek also assists its employer clients by drafting and reviewing employee handbooks/policies to ensure compliance with applicable (and ever-changing) laws.

“Investigations of Employee Misconduct” — Seminar for human resources and/or management personnel which explains how to conduct employment investigations, from legal and practical standpoints.

“Wage and Hour Issues” — Seminar for human resources and/or executive personnel which explains the current status of wage and hour laws. In light of a statewide litigation explosion by employees seeking alleged back payment of overtime, Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek also assists its employer clients by assessing which, if any, of the client’s employees are exempt from the overtime provisions of wage and hour laws.
