Legal Assistant (Estate Planning)

Location: San Diego, CA (On-Site) Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $80,000–$95,000 annually [Actual salary will depend upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills, and qualifications.]

Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our Estate Planning Department. We are looking for a team player with strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing exceptional client service. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys in the Estate Planning Department
  • Answer and direct phone calls, process documents, and manage client files (including scanning and organizing)
  • Prepare basic legal documents and correspondence
  • Notarize documents and coordinate calendaring, deadlines, and filings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
  • File documents with the San Diego Probate Court

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and/or trust administration for complex estates and trusts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Notary Public certification required
  • Experience filing with the San Diego Probate Court preferred
