Agustin Ceballos Named Among 40 Next Business Leaders Under 40 Finalists
Congratulations to Agustin Ceballos for being selected as a finalist for the San Diego Business Journal’s 40 Next Business Leaders Under 40 awards. Agustin was recognized for his energy, intelligence, civic mindedness and natural ability to lead.
An associate in SCMV’s Business Department, Agustin’s practice focuses on international estate planning, cross-border tax and corporate matters, advising on tax reporting and compliance and tax controversy. He has extensive experience structuring international transactions, operations and investments, including use of tax treaties for reduced tax rates, optimum use of foreign tax credits and entity classifications. He is also well-versed in representing clients on U.S. income, gift and estate tax reporting and compliance. In addition, Agustin has represented U.S. and foreign families in multi-generation succession planning.
Outside of work, Agustin is currently a member of the executive committee of the International Law Section of the California Lawyers Association, where he is co-chair of the education committee. He also teaches international tax at the Graduate Tax Program of the Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México.
A frequent speaker at international tax and law conferences in both Mexico and the U.S, Agustin recently spoke at the 2019 Annual Income Tax Seminar in San Diego and the CalCPA XXV Binational Convention in Tijuana, Mexico.
Originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, Agustin is fluent in both Spanish and English, which significantly supports his cross-border practice.
