Daniel A. Andrist
Firm Member
Daniel A. Andrist is a shareholder of the firm in the Litigation Department, where he heads the firm’s Insurance Practice Area. His practice is focused primarily upon risk management, insurance policy evaluation, insurance claims, coverage disputes and insurance bad-faith litigation. His general civil litigation practice extends to insurance coverage and bad-faith litigation; construction defect litigation; employment and intellectual property actions; sexual harassment and discrimination claims; property and casualty claims; personal injury lawsuits and other matters.
Education Background
Mr. Andrist graduated cum laude from Oregon State University in 1976 and then served as an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1983, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He obtained his M.A. in Business Administration in 1987 with an emphasis in operations management. In 1991, Mr. Andrist graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law where he was a member of the San Diego Law Review.

- Represents policyholder clients in matters relating to commercial general liability, professional liability, employment practices liability, director and officer liability, environmental liability, and homeowner and automobile liability insurance policies
- Advises and represents clients in construction defect litigation, Calderon and SB 800 proceedings, and other civil matters
