James R. Thompson
Associate
James R. Thompson is an associate whose practice emphasizes complex business litigation, including real property disputes and employment matters. His practice also includes work in white-collar criminal defense.
Education Background
Mr. Thompson received his Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from San Diego State University in 2001. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2008. While in law school, he received an award as the Best Overall Advocate (Oral and Written) in Lawyering Skills I and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Fraternity. Mr. Thompson also served as a member and Student Comment Editor of the San Diego International Law Journal.
Employment Background
Prior to joining Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek as an associate, Mr. Thompson worked as a paralegal and law clerk with two insurance defense firms in San Diego. Mr. Thompson was a summer associate with Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek in 2007.
