Jeffrey B. Harris is a shareholder of the firm and practices general civil litigation, with an emphasis in business and contract disputes.


Education Background

Mr. Harris received his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego in 1993. He earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1998, where he was a member of the San Diego Law Review.

Employment Background

Prior to joining Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek, Mr. Harris was general counsel for Therapy Specialists, a regional supplier of rehabilitation services.

  • Represents business owners and employers in state and federal courts and before the California Employment Commissioner
  • Defended manufacturing company in real property litigation arising out of environmental problems, achieving “walk-away” settlement
  • Represented developers in litigation arising from lending disputes and insurance coverage disputes, recovering nearly $10,000,000 in settlements during trial or after summary judgment awarded
  • Achieved trial defense verdict in favor of owners of closely held business on various business tort claims
  • Represented company officers and directors in litigation with their insurer over D&O coverage resulting in seven figure settlement
  • Represented healthcare company in various contract disputes with service payors, obtaining writ relief leading to successful settlement
  • Represented publisher in trade secret and unfair competition dispute, obtaining injunctive relief leading to successful settlement
