Brendan Bargmann is an associate in Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek’s Litigation Department.

Education

Mr. Bargmann received his law degree from California Western School of law, where he wrote for their International Law Journal, earned four academic excellence awards, and graduated cum laude. He received his bachelor’s in political science from American University in 2013.

Employment Background

Before joining Seltzer Caplan, Mr. Bargmann served as a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice, where he developed his trial experience defending the state in civil litigation primarily concerning civil rights, torts, and wrongful deaths. He had previously worked at a San Diego bankruptcy boutique, Fennell Law, where he represented commercial creditors and debtors, and U.S. Bankruptcy Trustees, in Chapter 7 and 11 matters.

 While in law school, Mr. Bargmann externed for the Hon. Lupe Rodriguez Jr. of the Southern District and the Hon. Joel Wholfeil of the Superior Court; he interned for the San Diego City Attorney and California Office of the Attorney General. Before his legal career, Mr. Bargmann worked in federal politics as a major fundraiser for campaigns and national civic engagement nonprofits.
