Paul M. Vargas

Paul M. Vargas is Of Counsel with Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek.  His practice focuses on transactional tax matters for individuals, businesses and investors.  Additionally, he handles an array of tax controversy matters – both state and federal – including audits and U.S. Tax Court Litigation.  Mr. Vargas adds a personal touch that ensures only the highest quality of service and attention for each of his clients.  He is fluent in both English and Spanish. 


Mr. Vargas attended the Western Michigan School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2004.  Mr. Vargas also received his LLM in Taxation, with honors, from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2010.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University. 

Employment Background

Prior to joining Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek, Mr. Vargas was the managing attorney at Vargas Law in the South Bay area of Los Angeles from 2011 to 2021.  His prior work includes business transactional and civil litigation matters in several Southern California law firms.

Mr. Vargas loves spending time with his wife and two young daughters. He also enjoys traveling, playing soccer, hiking, snowboarding and seeing live music.
