Trusts & Estates Administration & Litigation Associate

SCMV seeks to add an associate attorney with 2-6 years of trust and estate administration and litigation experience.  If you are a litigator with proven trial experience, this would be a great opportunity to establish a long-term career and play an important role in our continued growth with a clear path toward partnership.

 

As an associate attorney, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing trust and estate administration and litigation matters from intake through trial
  • Drafting court petitions, motions, and discovery
  • Preparing case evaluations and litigation strategies
  • Arguing motions, attending mediations, and negotiating settlements
  • Advising clients, taking and defending depositions, and assisting with trials

 

Matters often include will and trust contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, fiduciary misconduct, Probate Code § 850 and § 17200 petitions, and financial elder abuse.

 

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • 2-6 years of experience in trust and estate administration and litigation.
  • Trial experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Salary range is $140,000-$215,000, plus additional incentive compensation and excellent benefits. Actual salary will depend upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills, and qualifications.
