Marianne Barth Named an Influential Woman by The Daily Transcript
SCMV is proud to announce that Marianne Barth has been named to The Daily Transcript’s list of Influential Women. The 2018 honorees represent the best and brightest women in the San Diego County business community and the impact they are making across the region.
Of counsel at SCMV, Marianne’s practice focuses on family law matters, ensuring that clients reach realistic, reasonable and cost-effective solutions in unwinding marriages, dividing assets and developing workable custody agreements.
According to Marianne, “My challenge is to put emotion aside as an attorney taking a clear view of hard situations. Clients and their spouses go through depression, anger and withdrawal. I'm not a therapist, but I can help get them to acceptance through focus on the legal issues and the use of financial advisers and, if there are children involved, counselors.”
The publication also highlighted Marianne’s volunteer efforts, especially in helping women, minorities and teens. As member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego, she devotes her time addressing gender-discrimination issues in the law, the profession and the community. She also volunteers with San Diego’s Prescription Drug Abuse Task Force helping to reduce access to illegal prescription drugs and increase awareness through enforcement, education, treatment and legislative policy change, especially among San Diego’s youth.
Marianne is also a member of the legal ethics committee of the San Diego County Bar Association and volunteers as a Superior Court pro tem judge, conducting settlement conferences in family cases and assisting parties in resolving their legal issues without the need for court intervention.
